Subject: The Mosque
Article:
A mosque belonging to the Suriname Islamic Society is located on the
Keizerstraat 88, Paramaribo. The society was founded in 1929 thus one can
assume the mosque was built around that time. The mosque is a rectangular
building with a dome and four octal sided shaped steeples on each corner.
Other mosques in the city and country are built at a later date and are
not considered having been built following a Suriname's architectural
tradition with its hardwood structures.
