Subject: [HISTORY] Charles Lindbergh
Article:
Charles Lindbergh visited Suriname in 1929 when he made the first official mail-flight with Pan American Airways. His flying-boat a Sikorsky S-38 twin engine 8 seat airplane landed on the Suriname river. There was no airport in Suriname at that time. Charles Lindbergh stayed at the Suralco mansion "Cornerhouse" where his black and white photograph is located.
His picture can also be found in a publication of Suralco's Public Relations Department, Cornerhouse and Dixie Bar.
