Eating out in Suriname is no problem in the cities as you can eat Creole, Hindu-India, Indonesian, Chinese or European food. Going into the interior could be a problem if you don't take dry and canned goods along.

Some well known Surinamese dishes are: Pinda soep met tom-tom (peanut soup) Pom (chicken) Fiadoe (pastry) Alu Tarkari (potatoes India style) Also known are "madam Janette" a family of the habanero hot peppers and "zoute vlees" a salted beef brisket.
